Bullying

Bullying in schools
Democrat and Chronicles' recent article Bullying leaves tormented students, helpless parents is about  students who have been extremely bullied in their school. First it talks about a young 6th grade girl who was asked on a date by an 8th grade boy. The girl simply replied that she was not allowed to go on dates yet, and then the bullying began. The older boys began harassing her and actually physically punching kicking and tripping her. It also speaks of a older girl who was bullied so bad she had to turn to drugs and alcohol to ease her pain, she even left the school she was at her senior year, "she was cheated out of a year of high school" said her father. It wasn't fear that kept bullied teen from talking is another recent article about bullying. A student was being bullied at a young age and his parents could not figure out why he wouldn't talk about what was going on. After switching schools his new counselor suggested seeing a doctor for mental tests. Right away the doctor diagnosed the young students Jim with Aspergers a form of autism. Democrat and Chronicles' had another recent article about bullying Hateful texts, voice-mails end after visit to school psychologist. This was about another girl at Victor high school who has had to deal with Bullying and harassment through almost 2 years of high school. She has had to deal with constant text messages and voice mails at all hours from former friends. Even when her parents  tried to step in the bullying and calls continued. It wasn't until she visited the school psychologist until the problems finally started to stop.

BULLYING NEEDS TO STOP!
Jamey Rodemyer was a 14 year old boy from Williamsville, NY that recently took his own life due to bullying. Jamey was a huge fan of lady gaga and her music inspires him and lets him know he was "born this way". He said in his you tube post that lady gaga inspires him. Jamey tells everyone in his youtube post that it gets better no matter how hard it gets. Lady gaga even mentioned Jamey at one of her concerts.

The students of Bishop Kearney High Schoool also have some strong thoughts on bullying. "Bullying has morphed into something that is uncontrollable now with the use of social Medias bullying has increased to a level that is unimaginable." Says  Sam H a junior at the school.

Emma S adds, “Bullying has become a new epidemic that must be stopped.” Students are obviously aware of the problems it causes and some like Marisa R even says "We are too comfortable with bullying we need to punish it and make it stop".

Faculty at the High School are also aware of the issues. New Dean of Students Mr. Miller sums it up as "bullying is mean". He also adds, "when dealing with cyber bullying blocking the bully is the best way to start."
picking on younger students isn't cool.
